How to create Black with depth

Drawing black - barely one black colour pencil to use?

Of cause NO. Black is the sum up of ALL COLOR. It means black is come from the sum up of difference value of blue, red, green, brown, pupple. When I draw using all of my colored pencil onto the same spot.. It end up will be grey and black.

Apart from drawing a light layer of grey, top up with heavy layer of white .

Grey could be:

sum up of red and green

sum up of blue and orange

sum up of yellow and purple -> this one did not apply because yellow is too bright and light. purple is too dark. it need to bright in indigo blue then mix up with black for depth.

With this concept, I am not limited in barely using black color. I could also use blue, red, green, brown, pupple in order to draw warm or cold black. Or, draw grey using various color. Pulling in these amount of color, will bring depth as difference color involved in this kind of black.

#Black and grey are both playing critical role in an artwork.

This is similar to the concept that things pop out when:

red next to green/ yellow next to pupple/ blue next to orange.
