Pencil Box Featured Artwork 'Lion' on Pencil Box, Ann Kullberg Magazine for Colored Pencils
I was in so much excitement when aware that my work 'Lion" was choosen to be included in THE PENCIL BOX FEATURED ARTWORK by Ann Kullberg Magazine for Colored Pencils Artist, September 2019 Issue.
“There are countless layers of colored pencils and odorless mineral spirit in this lion. Drawing fur is not challenging. The challenging part is how to make it pop out.”
There were moments that I could not find a way to pop out these fur. Those edges were not good enough! I did try yellow and white. It was still not ok. I somehow figure it out that my electronic eraser might fulfil this task.
I generally, slowly used an electronic eraser to erase all those edges- following their nature growing sharp. Then applied white and cream. used cream to merge and blended with the edging orange pigment. This was my way of finishing these beautiful hair on early of June.
To said more, our eraser could play more important role in our work than we could ever imagine. At current moment I am still exploring.
Hope that you all enjoy this blog. Welcome to subscript for more news. This is the last month of 2019. Bless everyone to have a warmth, peaceful holiday.
